Sammode's participation in the 12th Venice Biennale of Architecture (29.08. - 21.11.2010) as a partner of the French Pavilion testifies to its growing and increasingly active involvement in the field of architecture.
Whether for projects of creation, expansion, rehabilitation or conversion, architects have an ever more subtle, sophisticated and effective understanding and way of using light.
For 20 years now, Sammode's commitment to architecture has been formalized through its continuous collaboration and complicity with Dominique Perrault, from the Bibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris to the "Caja Magica" in Madrid, by way of the Velodrome and Olympic Swimming pool in Berlin and the Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg... Hence, Sammode's participation in this Venetian adventure seemed obvious. All the more so when one considers the content of "Métropolis", the exhibition hosted by the French Pavilion and which, from Paris to Lyon and from Nantes to Bordeaux by way of Marseille, provides a forum and a showcase, both for municipal and regional public authorities (Urban Community of Lyon, Atlantic Port of Nantes Saint-Nazaire...) as well as for the architects (Jean-Marie Duthilleul, Dietmar Feichtinger, Jean-Marc Ibos and Myrto Vitart, Jean Nouvel, Bernard Reichen and Philippe Robert, Denis Valode and Jean Pistre, Claude Vasconi and many more) with whom Sammode regularly partners.
Sammode is always seeking to achieve purity, truth and timelessness in its products as much as functionality, flexibility, robustness and durability. This family-owned firm, operating for over a century, is internationally known and recognized for its expertise in industrial lighting. Now equally well regarded in the field of architecture, and thanks to its integrated research and development team, Sammode brings to architectural lighting its high degree of analytical skill, adaptability, industrial expertise and know-how.
